Print Prelim Flat Plans
FLAT PLAN
FRONT COVER
I have used 6 different colours on the front page. They are purple, yellow, white, black, blue and orange. Purple is to represent the QE badge as it’s written in that colour in particular. Purple is a colour which relates to royalty and significance connoting the students who come here are of a high standard in education than the average students. Yellow can resemble caution, implying the teachers and education at QE have a wide range of knowledge within their specific subject, therefore linking with the colour purple as the students that come here must be of a high standard and its not going to be easy at QE. The sell-lines were chosen to give a mental image of what the college consists of such as events, holidays etc. The image I used is of a girl who is shown to be smiling, suggesting that QE is very welcoming towards students and the students themselves enjoy college. She is also dressed casually presenting the idea of the students not having a dress code but expect the students to be themselves and dress respectively. She is positioned in the centre connoting importance within the college.
CONTENTS PAGE
I have used 5 different colours on the contents page. They are purple, yellow, white, red and blue. Red was used to connote danger implying that QE is a place for people willing to be ambitious and the students be full aware that it’s not going to be easy. Both Red and Blue were used to conflict with the front page showing difference and keep the audience interested in the magazine. White was used to signify purity and being simple, suggesting that everyone is welcome to QE whatever they dress like etc, as long as they are willing to achieve highly. Namibia’s flag was used to further interest the audience into ‘Project Namibia’ I choose to use a yellow star as its bold which draw the reader’s attention to it.
