Photography Test Shoots

I decided to take a variety of test shots to help gain an idea of what the actual photo shoots would be like. By doing this, it gave me an insight into what aspects are needed for this process to succeed and make my photography of a professional standard.

For this image, it is a medium shot of the three models each positioned in a row with one another. The picture is evidently blurry, which shows the unprofessional standard of this photo. To improve on this I will have to become more aware of the tools used on a SLR Camera for the actual photo shoots for my magazine, in doing this will help make my products more of a professional standard. The models themselves are centrally framed with their eye line in the upper third of the page.

Again, this picture is extremely blurry and to fix this issue I will have to become more adapting to the aspects of the SLR Camera. This image was taken in the media studio with a three point lighting set up to help make the picture appear more professional and bright. I decided to again to experiment with the medium shot as this is the shot of which I intend to use greatly and will therefore need to learn how to make the shot work in my magazine.

This is another medium close up shot of my models with the models again appearing in a row with one another. It was taken against a black screen, which for my intended magazine would work extremely well as the genre of my magazine is the Rock/Indie genre and the colour schemes used tend to be dark. Again, the models eye line are positioned in the upper third with the pictures being taken using the three point light set up.

This image I took is landscape, having the models again feature in a row woth each other. The model located in the centre is the lead singer of the band, I did this as from research it was found that the majority of the photography of the bands tend to have the lead singer positioned inthe middle to represent their status within the band. Again, the models eye lines are all located in the upper third which would encourage the audicne into looking directly at the models as if they were looking back.

In this image, the model on the left is slightly positioned out of focus from the camera shot. When doing my actual photoshoot, I will have to take this into consideration and ensure the models are positioned in the correct positions. The way the models are stood and their facial expression don't particularly represent the the rock/indie genre of music, I will have to also take ths into account when doing my actual photoshoot as the whole products need to work continuosly throughout.

The models are positioned slightly too far to the left, which makes the model on the left appear slightly out of camera. When producing my actual photo shoot, I will have to take this onto consideration to help ensure my photoshoots run smoothly and succesfully. The eye line of each model is again featured in the upper third which draws the attention of the audience and makes them relate to the models much better.
