In my music magazine, I have tried to represent the 'Scene Kids' stereotype. This type of 'tribe' are most commonly associated with the genre of music both Kerrang! and Rocksound. My magazine intends to be of a similar genre to both these already existing professional magazines, therefore I wanted to represent the similar 'tribe' in my own magazine.
My magazine focuses on the musical taste of the rock/indie genre, therefore I took this into account when both creating and developing my front cover, contents page and double page spread.
Below is a video representation of the 'Scene Kids tribe'.
My Products
All these aspects influenced the production of my media magazine, the models featured within my products I Believe represented this particular 'tribe' to some extent. For my front cover model, I felt that her characteristics portrayed this specific stereotype to full efect as her hair style and colour shows the forms and conventions of the 'Scene Kids tribe'. My main model is wearing fairly heavy make-up which connotes her to be vain and caring about her appearance similar to the 'Scene Kids' tribe. When looking at the style of clothes the models use, they sport a selection of dark colours, with the main male modewho appears on the contents page wearing a dark black shirt. However, there are some cases in which the models can be noticed wearing fairly light colours. The poses for my models seem to be similar to what is expected from this specific tribe as they all seem vain and confident about their appearance and individualism. This is reinforced by thier facial expressions and camera angle.
